number 4 remembered me hitting 9 from 13 root servers in Oct/2002. it is the most essential part of the internet though. and about number 10; I guess Vista is a big improvement for Microsoft in the field of security. at least when XP released there was a major threat for everyone who used to use a bare installation of XP. heap header cookie, PEB TEB randomization, RtlEncode, ASLR, heap header encoding; Vista is a lot safer from inside. and also people are a lot more aware in comparison to the time when XP released!

Sure Vista is safer. It is a lot harder to exploit vista compared to xp. But when a vuln is discovered and successfully exploited then the impact is similar to the condition that it was for xp. Lamers will use it happily to target home-users. I think in such products (that are used for clients -not servers) the most important part is the ability to "upgrade automatically" when a new bug is discovered - and force users to do that! Not once a month but every-day. But if I was the writer the #10 was like this: "Spread of Windows Vista will have some impact -not so much- on the overall threat-scape"...
